Pool Start-UP
Keep Your Water Sparkling
Service Description
The pool start-up process is designed to ensure that all equipment, surfaces, and water chemistry are properly balanced for safe and efficient operation. Upon completion of pool construction, resurfacing, or refilling, the system is inspected to verify that all equipment—including the pump, filter, heater, valves, and automation controls—is functioning correctly and free of leaks. The pool and spa are thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust, debris, or residue, and all surfaces are brushed to prevent scaling or staining during the initial curing period. Once the pool has been filled to the proper operating level, circulation is initiated and water flow is confirmed throughout all return lines and features. Water chemistry is then carefully tested, and initial readings for pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitizer levels are recorded. Start-up chemicals, such as sequestering agents and balancing products, are added as required to bring the water into proper balance. Adjustments are made gradually to achieve recommended parameters in accordance with industry standards. For new plaster, pebble, or quartz finishes, daily brushing is performed during the first week to remove plaster dust and promote an even surface cure. pH and alkalinity levels are closely monitored and maintained within target ranges throughout the curing period. Salt systems, if applicable, are not activated until at least 30 days after startup to protect the new surface. Following chemical balancing and system verification, a final inspection is completed to confirm proper equipment operation, filtration, and circulation. All findings, test results, and chemical additions are documented, and the client or property representative is provided with a summary of the work performed along with recommendations for ongoing pool maintenance and care.
